Fill out the respective form for your organization type (startup, investor, or ecosystem organization) with information about your organization and team to create an updatable profile on the CommonApp platform.

The information in your profile will include matching criteria that will generate suggested investors and programming for startups and suggested startups for investors and programming. Suggestions will be sent through an automated email introduction sent on a regular cadence.

Through the email introductions, see key pieces of information about the investor/ecosystem program or startup in question to evaluate if the suggestion is a strong match. All connections are mutual and opt-in only.

If both parties agree to the connection, a direct line of communication within the CommonApp platform opens up, allowing interested parties to talk to one another. Alternatively, connected entities will see each other’s emails and can pursue other forms of communication.

What does it cost to join and use the Common App?
The TechChicago Common App and profiles are free to all founders, investors and partnering programs!
How do I apply?
Please use the appropriate application form below. Once your application is completed, the TechChicago team will assess and confirm your application. You will then receive the welcome email with onboarding instructions!
What happens after I fill out the application form?
Once you have completed your application form, you will receive a welcome email with onboarding instructions that will lead you to your profile. Once at your profile, you will be able to further fill out more specific info. Once your profile is completed you will start to generate percentage-matched results based on how close of a fit you are to investors and programs if you are a founder and vice versa if you are a partner program or investor. At this point, both Investor, programming, and the founder will have the opportunity to connect with each other. For a connection to occur both matched parties will need to first opt into the connection. If both opt into connecting a private direct line of communication will be opened between the two parties.
How will I be notified of my suggestions and matches
Suggested matches will be based on the strength of match percentage, and you will receive a weekly email with 2-3 match suggestions where you can view match details quickly and conveniently from your email. If you opt into connecting with anyone and they also opt into connecting, you will also receive another email letting you know you can directly communicate with your newly connected party by logging into your profile.
